Along national highways, the government plans on putting up helipads and drone landing facilities.

According to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, the government plans on setting up helipads and drone landing locations on the national highways. These facilities will be placed at some of the 600 locations along the highways where it is developing wayside amenities.

Such facilities would be helpful in dealing with medical emergencies like organ transplants and road accidents.
